This is me and my sister Lisa on the Iowa farm. I'm pretty sure I was about 7 in this picture. Lindsay's age. This is one on the happiest days of my childhood, and I remember it well. This rooster was so mean, and every morning when I would go out to collect eggs, and feed the chickens he would chase me around and try to peck me. He was successful a few time and I'll never forget the fear that I had for him. I was so happy when It was Fred's turn for the ax. I even remember the meal that we had after and I was totally fine with eating Fred. I didn't feel so happy eating the sheep and goats though. I have many memories doing the chores with my sister Lisa. They were wonderful years, and I consider it the perfect, unique, childhood that I'm so grateful for. We worked really hard as a family, and also had lots of play time too just outside on this beautiful tick infested property. But I wish I could go back for a day and be a kid again in Iowa and play with my sisters and do the chores.

Hmmm...I always knew you had a dark side! Guess Fred brought it out...how funny that as a 7 year old you actually were happy to eat him! You crack me up!! :) Very cute picture!!!
I laughed hard at this picture- your huge smiles of victory, Fred stretched out between you, and your outfit! LOVE IT.
Okay, that was totally funny! I can;t believe you remember that so well! I guess if you have a boy we can guarantee his name isn't going to be Fred! Oh, and I'd love to be a kid for a day too! Wouldn't that be awesome!
That is so cute! I wish I could see it bigger, but when I click on it it stays small. How cute! You definitely resemble Lindsay at the same age.
I loved the picture and the story that goes with it! I think that it is fun that you grew up on a farm. I still think that Lindsay looks like you and that picture proves it!
