divine intervention!

What do you get when you combine chain-saw+ladder+scaffolding+dead branches+overly excited husband=Emergency Room.
For about a month now Dane has been planning the day when he will save our family some money and cut some dead branches off our 100 year old tree in the back. He rented some scaffolding from homedepot to reach the branches with the help of a ladder. He got a new chain-saw for his birthday and I haven't seen him this excited about a new toy for awhile. We are in wood obsession mode right now. Those of you who know Dane can imagine what I mean. So i've been dreading the day he does this but I just said my two cents and was happY to see Richard was helping him. They were being very cautious with helmets, eye gear, ear gear, face shield, etc. Hence part of the excitement. The first tree was complete and they were working on the second tree. Dane was up about 30 feet. Over the roof of our two story house. Richard had just handed him the chain saw when the ladder slipped out from under him. Dane saw the fence and tree coming face first and decided to change positions mid air into a tucking and rolling position. Which is amazing considering it all happened so fast. Luckily I didn't see any of it happen just heard a big crash of the ladder. Dane just kept rolling. I was so confused when I saw him laying so far away from the ladder. It was a wife's horror moment to see Dane laying there and not getting up. He was confused and in shock, laid there a few minutes and got up and walked into the house, laid on the bed for 3 days, and is doing better. We did go to the ER to make sure there were no broken bones or internal bleeding or something. It felt like a miracle that he had nothing seriously wrong with him. It was one of those moments that changed the way I look at him. I feel so grateful he is okay. We decided it does pay off to have so many Dads, and brothers on the other side giving us a helping hand every once in awhile.

Sorry no pictures latley. I can't find my camera charger. No surprise considering my house and life is still in chaos.

I am so glad that he is okay! It is nice having family up there to watch over us. I know that my guardian angel has protected me several times. We hope to see you guys on Saturday too. We might not be able to make it depending on the time. Mckenna has a party at noon that she doesn't want to miss.

What a scary time for you. Riley is always trying to save us money by doing things he really shouldn't around the house. So I know how you feel on that one! I am so glad Dane is ok. I love that he learned the tuck and roll so fast! He definitely had someone looking out for him! Hang in there!

Goodness! That is so scary, I'm glad he is okay! Tell Dane his safety is worth paying someone to trim the trees! Gosh, he is just like Robert...what is up with boys wanted to do everything themselves...especially if it is dangerous? Boys!!!
