This is me after my Mom gave birth to my sister Emily 25 years ago. I was seven years old, exactly Lindsay's age. I don't remember this hug, but I remember that day well. I remember staying home with my Grandma awaiting the call that my mom had the baby. When my dad called my Grandma yelled out "it's a girl". We were all so excited. I also remember that we didn't have to go to church that day because of the big event. I was excited to have a new baby sister. My sister Lisa and I were very close and I remember telling her that now that Emily was born she was no longer my favorite. Sorry Lisa! That was very mean. Lisa and I continued to be close then and now. I was very helpful to my mom in caring for Emily. I would hold her when she cried and dance with her around the living-room. Which I dropped her when she was 2 weeks old trying to comfort her. Luckily she was okay. I also remember changing her cloth diapers. I got very good at not poking her with the pins. I know Lindsay is going to be very helpful as well. She is so excited for our new baby to arrive. When my patience is running low with the help, I will try to remember how I felt when Emily was born.

I love your flashbacks. I am so excited for your new bundle. It looks like you have some great little helpers. If I remember right isn't Lisa birthday the first of Nov. and yours is the fifth? How fun to have a baby in between.
that is so sweet! i love how you remember so much of that day! The only birth i remember is my 5th brother. I remember talking to my mom over the phone and when she said it was a boy I just gave the phone back to the babysitter and went to play in the tree. I was so sad. Anyway, yes...Lindsay is going to be a huge help! you're so lucky! Tyler was awesome with Trey...still is!
I haven't seen your blog for awhile, there are so many new posts! So sad about all that elementary school drama for poor Lindsay! I thought all of that started in middle-school. Lame! I can't believe Luke is 2 and we still have never met the kid! Sad!! I can't believe you are almost DUE! You could have this baby anyday! Are you ready???? :) We love you guys...can't wait to see the new little one! Have you finally agreed on a name?????
